REDDITCH and Bromsgrove dog wardens are asking residents for old household linen in the run up to the cold winter months.
The blankets are used at Redditch Police Station, which is where all stray dogs are first taken when they are picked up, and staff pad out the station's wooden pallets and plastic dog beds with them, especially over winter when the dogs can get quite cold.
Julie Edmonds, dog warden for the area, said: "We're asking for donations of blankets, towels and sheets. They don't have to be good quality, but they should be clean."
People with spare items can contact Julie Edmonds on 07799 887536 and the service will organise for someone to come and collect any donations.
