A CHARITY football match will be played as a tribute to four-year-old Lewis O'Neill, who died from a rare genetic condition called Leukodystrophy Krabbe.
The Lewis O'Neill Charity Cup will see Aston Villa Old Stars playing famous footballers such as Bob Taylor and Dave Busst, along with Lewis' dad and family friends.
On the day there will also be an auction of football memorabilia which includes an England shirt signed by the whole team including David Beckham and Michael Owen and signed Real Madrid and Aston Villa shirts.
Lewis' dad Lee, said: "It's normal for a father and son to play football together but I won't be able to do that - that's why we want to do this.
"It's taken a lot of preparation, we've been planning for about eight months. It's been tough but I think Lewis would be proud."
All money raised from the charity game as well as the auction will go towards Acorns Children's Hospice.
Lee added: "We lost Lewis over a year ago and Acorns have been amazing. We chose to give the proceeds to them because they were so good to us, everybody there works so hard.
"We also want to raise awareness of the hospice and what it does.
"Although we want it to be a good day out and for everyone to have a good time we're really doing it to remember Lewis. It will be a tribute to him."
The game is on Sunday, October 14 at Studley Football Club and kicks off at 2.30pm.
Tickets cost £3 for adults, £1 for under 16s and can be bought on the day.
If anyone would like to make a donation they can send money to a special account at a Halifax branch.
The sort code is 111134 and the account number is 00698613.
