THE Third Annual Feckenham Scarecrow Festival is set to take place on Saturday and Sunday.
Villagers are busily constructing all kinds of weird and wonderful creations in the hope of winning prizes in the competition for the most imaginative scarecrow.
Last year there were more than 30 displays ranging from the traditional to the bizarre, the beautiful to the bonkers.
Visitors can enjoy a stroll around the Scarecrow Trail starting at the village Square and maps will be available to guide people around. They will also be invited to vote for their favourite scarecrow and the winners will be announced and prizes awarded at 3.30pm on The Square.
A number of the scarecrows will come to life in order to serve tasty teas in the Scarecrow Marquee and there will be a competition for junior visitors who will be invited to paint a face for a scarecrow.
A spokesman said: "All this probably sounds slightly familiar, many villages organise similar events, but this one's slightly different as it's free. Nothing to pay and no fundraising being done.
"Feckenham Entertain-ments Committee, which organises the event, feels that sometimes it's good for a community just to do something for fun. So there'll be no rattling tins or buckets and no pressure to spend anything.
"It's just a chance to enjoy a village's creativity and good humour."
The Scarecrow Trail will be open from 11am on both days. For people coming by car, Barretts of Feckenham, on Astwood Lane, will open its car park extension and parking will be free.
