NED’S Atomic Dustbin and Pop Will Eat Itself are making final preparations to hit the road for Love From Stourbridge 2019.
This follows last year’s tour when the Ned’s and The Wonder Stuff played shows across the country with DJ Graham Crabb from Pop Will Eat Itself to celebrate the Stourbridge scene.
This year Crabb is leaving the DJ duties to The Wonder Stuff’s Miles Hunt who will also be performing a solo acoustic set.
Back in the late 80s and early 90s, all three bands released their most acclaimed work putting Stourbridge on the alternative music map.
Jonn Penney, the Ned’s lead singer, said: “I can’t wait to get on the road with the Poppies.
“We were always going to each other’s shows and our paths crossed all the time in all corners of the globe, but it’s been an absolute age since we shared a stage.
“There’s bounce in these old knees yet and the Poppies taught us all the moves.”
This year will mark the 30th anniversary of the Poppies critically acclaimed ‘This is the Day…This is the Hour…This is This!’ sample driven album which the band will perform in its entirety.
The band's biggest chart-topping singles came from this record, including Can U Dig It?, Def. Con. One and Wise Up! Sucker.
They will play at the O2 Institute, Birmingham on 20 and 21 April at the end of their tour.
