REDDITCH and Inkberrow Liberal Democrats have selected Dr. Bruce Horton to be the Lib Dem candidate for Redditch in the forthcoming General Election.
Bruce, originally from Solihull and who now lives between Redditch and Stratford, is a consultant on environmental policy.
He is a company director and also works in Redditch for an engineering company.
He works mainly on flood risk, water management and climate change.
He said: "I am very pleased to be selected as your parliamentary candidate.
"In this General Election I believe it is very important to make the case against Brexit, which would damage the British economy and cost local jobs. I will also campaign against school cuts, and fight to restore better hospital services for the people of Redditch.’’
Bruce’s priorities are to:
- Make sure our schools are properly funded and reverse the damage caused by years of austerity and underfunding
- Tackle the climate crisis by reducing greenhouse gases across the constituency and adapt to the impacts of climate change, including the increased risk of flooding
- Make sure new development is good quality, sustainable and affordable, and that there is adequate infrastructure to support new and existing housing.
