A MAN in his 20s has been arrested after running from police and trying to hide on a roof in Redditch.
At around 11.30am yesterday morning (Monday, August 3) on Beoley Road West, officers identified a man who was wanted for several thefts and assaults.
When he was challenged by police, he ran off, eventually trying to hide on the roof of a large vehicle repair workshop off Kingsley Avenue.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “More officers attended the scene, including a specialist negotiator and they engaged with the suspect in an effort to encourage him to come down safely, which he did at around 12.20pm.
“He was arrested suspicion of several thefts and assaults and was further arrested for criminal damage to the roof. He has been bailed while further enquiries are made.”
