HEART of Worcestershire College in Redditch will benefit from £1,055,424 to upgrade its facilities in a new funding announcement.
It is one of 180 education institutions that has been allocated a share of a £200 million to repair buildings, renovate campuses and upgrade facilities.
The funding is part of the Prime Minster's New Deal for Britain, aiming to help the nation bounce back from coronavirus by investing in infrastructure and skills, and creating jobs.
The Government has brought forward this funding from the £1.5 billion investment the Chancellor pledged in its last budget to upgrade the further college estate over the next five years.
The announcement has been welcomed by Redditch MP Rachel Maclean.
Mrs Maclean said: “I am delighted that Heart of Worcestershire College will be receiving £1,055,424.
"Further education plays a vital role in unlocking talent and potential of thousands of young people, and those returning to education once again, in Redditch and across the country.
“This funding will ensure our colleges have the investment and resources it needs to deliver a world class further education system. This will open up opportunity and deliver a workforce that will help our town and country get back on its feet.”
