A NEW recruitment agency has opened in Redditch as the town looks to recover from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
Following a visit to the recruitment agency, which opened in Greenlands, Redditch MP Rachel Maclean said it's a “sign the town’s economy is bouncing back.”
On Friday, June 25, the town’s MP was joined on a visit to Quest Employment with Emma Marshall, borough councillor for Greenlands and county councillor for Arrow Valley West.
Mrs Maclean and Mrs Marshall met with Izabela Cooper, the branch manager of the recruitment agency which has opened at the Excalibur Serviced Office in Greenlands.
During their visit, the two heard about the hundreds of jobs currently available and the pent-up demand in the local jobs market.
Mrs Maclean said: “A new recruitment agency opening up in Redditch is a great sign that our town’s economy will bounce back from the impact of the pandemic.
“Sadly, people have lost their job during the pandemic, but Redditch’s unemployment rate has consistently remained lower than the national average.
“With this recruitment agency opening, clearly local businesses are looking to recruit, and with Amazon’s Fulfilment Centre due to open this year, hundreds of jobs will be available for local residents to apply for.”
Mrs Marshall said: “It’s fantastic to see a new business opening up in Greenlands, and it was great to hear from Izabela about the pent-up demand in the jobs markets.”
