ONE of the biggest Star Wars collectible conventions in Europe is coming to the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, Redditch.
Saturday, August 7 will see the return of Echo Base Live Episode IX, an internationally celebrated collectors’ event for sci-fi enthusiasts.
Offering a range of vintage and modern memorabilia - from toys and books, to figurines and art - the day will also feature special guest appearances including Chris Bunn, the original Stormtrooper and Michael Pennington who played Moff Jerjerrod.
Ken Williams, general manager at Kingfisher Shopping Centre, said: “We are very proud and excited to be able to once again host such a major fan convention here at Kingfisher.

"The Echo Base Live events hosted in previous years were some of the most successful that Kingfisher has held, so we are really looking forward to this year’s convention.
"Given how difficult the last 18 months been for many of us, it is wonderful to be able to offer our guests an opportunity and space to escape and enjoy themselves.”
Activities on the day include the Jedi Fight Academy, hosted by Star Wars veteran, Andrew Lawden, who was the stunt double for Liam Neeson in Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace.
Fans will also have the opportunity to view and take photos with life-sized Star Wars prop displays.
The Echo Base Live convention will take place from 10am to 3pm on Park Walk, between Coffee#1 and Waterstones.
Visitors can find the prop area in Evesham Square, near Primark.
