BEER fans in Redditch are encouraged to get out and support their local pubs later this month.
The Redditch & Bromsgrove branch of CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) is hosting the Redditch Beer and Cider Weekend on August 14 and 15, in a bid to help pubs bounce back from the challenges of lockdown.
A pub trail and prizes will be taking place at participating pubs across Redditch to encourage families to get out and revisit their local, or perhaps try venues for the first time.
Dave Wheeler, organiser of the event, said: "We would like to encourage pubgoers and their families to get back out to their local pubs, enjoy some great local beers and ciders and provide some much needed support to an industry that has suffered more than most over the last 15 months."
A treasure hunt will be taking place at participating pubs with a prize of a day trip for a family of six on the narrowboat Cecilia, donated by the Worcester, Birmingham and Droitwich Canals Society up for grabs.
Silver and gold winners will be entered into a prize draw to win the narrowboat trip, while bronze, silver and gold winners will then be entered into the prize draw to win the remaining prizes.
