A MAN has died after a collision with a vehicle on Redditch Road, Alvechurch last night (August 15).
Ambulance crews were called at 5:45pm and arrived to find the man in a critical condition and despite paramedics’ best efforts, he was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Two ambulances, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car were dispatched to the incident.
The driver failed to stop after hitting the man but police have recovered a vehicle which they believe was the vehicle involved in the incident.
Redditch Road was closed for some time due to the crash, with motorists urged to use alternative routes.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Crews arrived at the scene on Redditch Road to find a man, the pedestrian, in a critical condition.
“Staff administered advanced trauma care to the man at the scene, but sadly despite the best efforts, nothing could be done to save the man and he was confirmed deceased on scene.”
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We have now recovered what we believe is the vehicle involved in the incident yesterday.
“Thank you for sharing and for those who made contact. We are still appealing for witnesses or those with dashcam or CCTV to make contact with us on 101 quoting log 555 I 15082021. (21005)”
