FAMILY fun at Green Fair and Lions Fun Day is set to return to Arrow Valley Park for the first time in two years.

The annual fair, organised by Redditch Borough Council in partnership with The Redditch Lions Club, returns to the town on Sunday September 5, from 11am to 4pm.

Visitors can expect funfair activities and demonstrations, including circus skills with Juggling Jim and a Punch and Judy show.

West Mercia Police will be on hand with demonstrations alongside the 37th Signal Regiment.

There will also be a display of cars, Royal Enfield Motorbikes, live music from Music Academy Midlands, a ukulele band and craft stalls.

YES Energy Services and Severn Waste and Recycling will also be offering advice.

Mike Andrews from Redditch Lions said: “It’s been a long time since our last event, but we are proud to be working with the council again to bring some fun and entertainment to our local community after what has been a difficult 18 months for many people. It’s a slightly smaller event than in past years due to the limited time scales post covid restrictions lifting, but it still promises to be an excellent family day out for all ages with lots to do and see. We can’t wait to see you there.”

Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, Cllr Mike Rouse, said: “We are still finding our feet as a council in the events space and it’s clear there are many challenges ahead in general, but I’m delighted we are working with the Lions to get this one right and provide a safe and welcoming event for everyone.”

Leader of the council, Cllr Matt Dormer, said: “It’s great that we’ve been able to pull together with local partners to bring back one of the town’s favourite events for everyone to enjoy.”
