A REDDITCH beauty therapist is celebrating after scooping a top national award for her work.
Natalie Mellors received the bronze award for 'Beauty Therapist of the Year 2021' at the British Hair and Beauty Awards last week.
The mother-of-one runs her own beauty business, NM Beauty, and pampers clients from a luxury treatment cabin in the back garden of her Winyates Green home.
She specialises in HD brows, lash lifts and facials.
The 48-year-old watched the ceremony online at home with her husband Steve and was completely taken aback by her victory- she was even dressed in her casuals as she did not expect to win.
She said: "I was thrilled to get shortlisted out of thousands of entries. I was sat with my husband and we had the awards on the laptop. When they said my name I screamed. It was a happy shock."
Natalie was initially shortlisted in June, which she said was a "huge achievement" in itself. She then has to submit testimonials from clients along with evidence of her work, which led to her scooping the prize on August 31.
She has spent 20 years in the beauty industry, initially starting out as a salon therapist and working her way up to salon manager.
Since moving to Redditch ten years ago she went solo and set up her business with her luxury treatment room cabin which has won rave reviews from customers.
Natalie said: "Everyone says how lovely it is and how they look forward to coming. The community have been really supportive."
She is now looking forward to the future to get a bigger cabin so she can take on more clients.
Natalie added: "I'm waiting on my certificate and trophy to arrive, but in the meantime, I wanted to thank all my clients, as without them I wouldn't have the successful business that I have".
