Police have confirmed that they are working on identifying an 'idiot' driver that has been causing havoc on the roads of Droitwich.

Floods of people took to social media yesterday to vent about the owner of a blue Skoda, who has been seen driving erratically by several witnesses.

One person wrote: "There's an idiot racing around Droitwich in what looks like a remapped blue Skoda diesel, they just overtook a car on Primsland Way at 70mph leaving thick black smoke behind.

"He must be stopped. He's going to kill someone."

Other residents swiftly replied, detailing their own encounters with the antisocial driver, who seems to be leaving clouds of black smoke in his wake.

Another said: "He overtook me last night when I was cycling and deliberately laid a black smoke trail for me to breath in."

A third witness even told of how the driver nearly 'took out' a couple on the high-street as he zoomed past.

Sergeant Sarah Kent of the Droitwich and Tenbury Wells Safer Neighbourhood Team told the Worcester News that they have been made aware of the comments, and they are now working on identifying the driver.

"We are aware of the social media comments about the anti-social driving connected to a blue Skoda in Droitwich," she said.

"We are currently identifying the driver and will be dealing with them regarding the manner of their driving.

"Of note, the first report to the Police was only received yesterday and we would encourage members of the public to report anti-social driving to us with as much detail as possible to enable us to deal with it."
