A NEW gym space offering yoga and spin lessons could be coming to Redditch if plans are given the green light.
Redditch firm Parkway Business Fitness has applied to Redditch Borough Council for a part change of use to turn their storage unit into space where people can test out gym equipment.
The firm, based on Broad Ground Road, supplies new and used gym equipment and carries out repairs and installations at gyms across the UK.
The space, if granted a change of use, would allow for fitness fans to test out equipment and take part in demonstrations of the kit.
Planning documents state that the space would also include a yoga area and spin studio for classes.
If granted, the space would be open 6am to 9pm, seven days a week.
Benefits for the scheme include the creation of new jobs and the creation of a new facility to help address health issues and obesity, planning documents state.
The planning statement adds: “The development would also promote healthier living, by providing an additional facility for the borough which has access to and is accessible by public transport, walking and cycling. The development is also situated close to Arrow Vale Lake, itself a popular leisure facility for use by occupants of the town.”
The application is open for comments under the reference 21/01485/FUL.
