A REDDITCH neighbourhood has been left in shock after a man was found dead in a house in Woodrow.
Police were called to an address in Cropthorne Close shortly after 7.30pm yesterday, where a man in his 60s was declared dead at the scene.
Two men from Redditch, one in his 40s and another in his 50s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and currently remain in police custody.
Police are investigating and remained at the scene this afternoon (October 20).
Nearby residents been left reeling by the incident, which saw police and ambulance descend on the street yesterday evening.
A woman who lives on Cropthorne Close said: "I heard a noise and lots of shouting. I came back out later and one of the girls said someone had died.
“People make out that Woodrow is really bad, but it's not.
“This is close to home, I've never known anything like it.”
Another neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said she saw forensic teams at the scene.
She told the Advertiser: “I've grown up around here and have had nothing like this.
“It's a shame, it's horrible.”
A woman, who did not wish to give her name, said she had lived on the street for ten years and it had always been a quiet area.
Medics were also called to the scene where paramedics discovered the man with serious injuries.
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff on scene, it became clear that nothing more could be done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene."
Police are continuing to investigate and have asked for anyone with information to get in touch via 101 and quote incident 548i of 19 October, 2021.
