PLANS to convert two former shops and offices into three homes in Studley have been submitted to planners.

The application consisting of two two-bed homes and one three-bed home, on Alcester Road has been put forward to Stratford District Council.

The applicant, David Bush, wants to remove the rear section of the building, which is known as Chester House, to create private fenced gardens and driveways.

A previous applicant was granted planning permission to demolish the buildings in 2016 but permission expired after three years.

The first-floor offices have been vacant since February 2009 and the ground floor has not been let since December 2012.

The design and access statement says the existing buildings are long overdue updating and are extremely poor.

It states: “The proposals provide an opportunity to return a building that had historically been poorly converted into commercial units, back into a terrace of three cottages of high-quality residential living in a highly sustainable location.

If plans are passed, the development will have direct access off Alcester Road and Manor Road.
