STRATFORD-on-Avon District Council is reminding residents that there will be no changes to refuse and recycling collections over the Christmas and New Year period.
Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day all fall at the weekend so there will be no disruption to collection schedules this year.
To ensure crews can deal with increased recycling generated at this time of year, there will be no garden waste collections from Monday, December 27 to Friday, January 7 2022.
Councillor Ian Shenton, climate change portfolio said: “Due to the fire at the Ettington recycling plant earlier in the year, alternative arrangements are now in place for the recycling which means the crews have to travel further to dispose of the material; with the extra recycling being collected over the festive period, the trucks will fill up quicker making rounds longer to complete.
“I am confident that our residents will understand that the recycling collections need to be prioritised over the collection of garden waste."
