A REDDITCH nail artist is celebrating after being nominated for a top beauty award.

Abbie Brookes has been nominated in the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2022 in the category of best gel nails.

The mother-of-one from Matchborough said the nomination was "absolutely amazing", and comes just under three years after Abbie started out in the beauty trade.

The 30-year-old started out by working from home and has worked her way up to launch her own salon, Aurora Beauty, which opened on Alcester Road in Studley a month ago.

Abbbe said: "My main focus is helping people grow their natural nails and and decorate them with intricate art work."

She explained demand has been booming and people seem to be moving away from extreme nail extensions, in favour of Abbie's nail art designs.

Abbie will find out in January if she has made the final 50 of the national competition, before the winners are revealed in February.
