WALKING enthusiasts in Redditch are being sought to inspire others to take up the activity this New Year.
In a bid to get more people walking in, Redditch Borough Council will be offering a free training session for anyone interested in becoming a “Worcestershire Health Walks” walk leader.
The voluntary role involves setting up walks in their area for people of varying abilities.
Training is set to take place on Wednesday, February 2 from 2pm to 4pm.
Cllr Joanne Beecham, whose portfolio covers leisure services, said: “Many of us reassess our health and wellbeing at this time of the year, and the pandemic has heightened that for a lot of people.
"If you’d like to inspire others to get moving, please sign up to the training and help us get more of our residents walking for health.”
A venue will be confirmed when it is known how many people are interested in attending.
