REDDITCH Labour have announced their candidates for May's local elections for Redditch Borough Council.
A teacher and a former member of the British Army are among the new faces hoping to represent the people of Redditch after May.
Councillor Andy Fry, current leader of the Labour group, will defend his seat in Lodge Park Ward while Bill Hartnett will stand in Church Hill and Joseph Baker will stand in Batchley and Brockhill.
Sharon Harvey hopes to represent Central Ward, while Joanna Kane is the prospective candidate for Greenlands, Woodrow and Wire Hill.
Councillor Wanda King will stand in Astwood Bank and Feckenham, and former mayoress Monica Fry will stand in Crabbs Cross.
New faces up for election include Sid Khan for Abbey Ward who recently retired from the British Army, local teacher Juliet Barker for Headless Cross and Oakenshaw, and former council officer Ian Woodall for Winyates Ward.
Juliet Barker said: "Getting together and having our group photos taken made being a candidate suddenly very real. I'm so looking forward to meeting the people of my ward and finding out how they would like to improve their area."
The candidates will be at a street stall in Redditch town centre on Saturday February 5 from 11am to 1pm.
Local elections take place on May 5 when one third of the seats are up for grabs.
