A NEW weather warning for the county has been issued as Storm Dudley is forecast to hit Worcestershire later today.
A yellow weather warning for wind is set to start at 3pm as forecasters say the county will now be hit by Storm Dudley, after previously forecasting we would miss the worst of the storm.
It means the county has two warnings for the coming days as a second storm, Storm Eunice, is also set to blow through the region on Friday.
The warning says: "Storm Dudley to bring a spell of very strong winds and a risk of disruption later Wednesday and into the small hours of Thursday.
"Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible, as well as some roads and bridges may close.
"Fallen trees and some damage to buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen.
"Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage.
"There is a chance of injuries and danger to life from flying debris."
Worcestershire Highways says it has "additional drainage crews and specialist tree contractors on standby" which will be deployed to any issues brought by Storm Dudley.

The warning is currently set to end at 6am tomorrow (February 17).
Meanwhile there are growing concerns that the yellow warning for wind on Friday, caused by Storm Eunice, could be upgraded to amber or red.
That storm has the potential of bringing winds of up to 80mph.
The yellow weather warning for Friday warns of “significant disruption”, also with the chance flying debris could result in danger to life.
Fallen trees, damage to buildings and homes, roofs being blown off and power lines being brought down are all mentioned in the warning.
The warning adds: "Where damaging winds occur, there is a chance that long interruptions to power supplies and other services may occur."

That warning is currently set to be in place between midnight on Friday and 9pm.
Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has reminded people to “stay ahead” of the changeable weather this week.
