AN appeal has been launched after two Staffordshire Bull Terriers injured a Lurcher and its owner during an attack in Redditch.
At around 6am on Thursday (February 17) a couple were walking their two Lurcher dogs in the cemetery on Plymouth Road in Redditch when they and one of their dogs were attacked by two unaccompanied Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
The Staffordshire Bull Terriers, one black and one tan/white, were not on leads, according to police.
The attack on the Lurcher has led to significant injuries. One of the owners of the Lurchers is also injured.
The owner of the Staffordshire Bull Terriers reportedly arrived a short while after the attack.
Police have described him as a white man, around 30 years old, stocky build, short light coloured hair and was wearing a tan coat.
However, he has then left the scene with both Staffordshire Bull Terriers before exchanging any details.
A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the attack or who may recognise the description of the man and the dogs.
"Please contact us via our website quoting incident number 57i of 17 February.
"Alternatively, if you have information but don’t feel comfortable speaking to police, you can speak to the independent charity Crimestoppers."
