PUNKS in Redditch are set to unite this weekend to raise crucial funds to help youngsters living with cancer.
‘Punks V Cancer’ takes place this Saturday and will see old and new school punk take to the stage at the Railway Inn in aid of Children With Cancer UK.
Ramones cover band The Remains will be playing classics from the New York rockers, while pop-punk trio Harpoon Coyote will perform much-loved tunes from the likes of Green Day and Blink 182.
Both bands are based in Redditch and are familiar faces on the gig circuit.
Aidan Collings, bassist with The Remains, said: “My granddaughter has cut her hair and donated it to The Little Princess Trust. I couldn’t let her out do me and so, as I have no hair, this is the very best option for me.
“Its for a good cause and March is also Brain Tumour Awareness Month so it’s really appropriate.”
The gig takes place at the Hewell Lane from 8pm and tickets cost £3 on the door, with donations also collected during the show.
