COMEDY legend Rik Mayall, known for his portrayal of Redditch reporter Kevin Turvey, has been remembered by fans on the anniversary of his birthday.
Mayall, who shot to fame in anarchic 80s sitcom The Young Ones, died in 2014 aged 56 and would have turned 64 today (March 7).
His turn as Kevin Turvey a self-styled investigative reporter from Redditch won him legions of fans in A Kick Up The Eighties and the mockumentary Kevin Turvey β The Man Behind The Green Door in 1982.
Fans have taken to Twitter to pay their respect to the comedy star, whose career included roles in Blackadder, Bottom and the Comic Strip series.

His portrayal of Redditch's own Kevin Turvey saw the reporter searching for scoops around the borough, taking him to the ring road, the water tower in Headless Cross and on the pitch at the Valley Stadium.
