A TEENAGER has been slashed with a weapon, believed to be a knife, in Redditch.

Emergency services were called to reports of an assault in the Matchborough area by Ashbourne Close on Monday, March 14.

A teenage boy had sustained potentially serious injuries and was conveyed to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for further treatment.

An image, widely circulated on social media, shows the boy received deep cuts to the face.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 11.40 pm to reports of an assault on Ashorne Close, Redditch.

“One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended.

“Upon arrival we found a teenage boy.

“He had sustained potentially serious injuries. He received treatment on scene and was conveyed to hospital for further assessment.”

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said their enquiries are ongoing.
