CELEBRITY entrepreneur Carol Vorderman has named a Redditch based fibreglass company as the winner of a business bursary.
Family run TPS fibreglass has won a £5,000 bursary through Starling Bank’s Take Flight initiative.
After a nationwide search for small business customers, the company fought off competition from 1,500 applicants to be one of ten recipients.
TPS Fibreglass, co-founded by Emma Baylis and Todd Smith in 2020, produces bespoke fibreglass moulds focussing on a new approach to mould-making through 3D scanning.
Emma and Todd impressed the judging panel including Carol Vorderman dedication to creating highly specialised builds for each customer.
Emma said: “We have built our business from the ground up and are immensely proud of what we have achieved.
"It has not been an easy ride, but we have learnt so much and have such belief in the company that we have invested all profits back into the business to grow it further.
"The grant from Starling Bank will help us invest in new technology, open new departments and better serve our customer’s needs.
"The end goal is to create an innovative business that creates high-quality bespoke products whilst simultaneously encouraging the personal and professional growth of our staff."
Carol Vorderman said: “Every entry was brilliant in its own way, but our ten winners impressed us with their unique business models, ambitious growth plans, and sense of purpose.”
