A ROAD near The Alexandra Hospital in Redditch was closed for nearly two hours due to a huge oil spillage.
The incident happened on Thursday, April 8 on Studley Road just after 10 pm.
Firefighters from Worcester Fire Station soaked up a large quantity of diesel from an abandoned car.
Worcestershire County Council Highways also assisted with the clean-up operation and placed a cordon on the road.
A spokesperson from Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "A Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crew from Worcester Fire Station was called at 22:10 to a fuel spillage in Studley Road, Redditch.
"Crews soaked up a large quantity of diesel from an abandoned car using absorbant fibres.
"Worcestershire County Council Highways also attended to assist with the clean-up operation.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 00:06."
