DELAYS for motorists are likely as work begins to replace 1km of old water pipes on Birmingham Road in Redditch.
The work which started on Tuesday, May 3 is set to take around 17 weeks to complete meaning disruption will last until the end of August.
Severn Trent engineers are starting work near the Abbey Stadium and along the main road to the roundabout and complete near No. 441 in Bordsley.
Along the stretch of road, there will be three sets of multi-way temporary traffic lights managing the flow of traffic.
In a letter sent by Severn Trent to nearby residents of the roadworks, it states disruption will be minimised as much as possible.
It notes: “If we plan to interrupt your water supply, we’ll notify you in advance with a card stating the date and the earliest start and latest time of the interruption.”
