A REDDITCH Japanese restaurant which only opened last year has been rated ‘one’ by food inspectors.
Edo Japanese and Asian Cuisine on The Quadrant was inspected on September 16 by food safety officers.
The restaurant was given a ‘one’ rating meaning major improvement is necessary.
Inspectors found major improvement was needed for its management of food safety, and improvement was needed for its hygienic food handling.
However, the cleanliness and condition of its facilities and building were found to be ‘good’.
A spokesperson for Edo Japanese said the rating was ‘all to do with missed paperwork and ‘not preparing official documents well’.
The spokesperson said there are ‘no huge problems in the restaurant and other hygiene sections are fine’.
A full food hygiene report was requested by The Advertiser but due to ‘ongoing action with regard to food non-compliances’ cannot be released.
