TWO Redditch takeaways have been handed new food hygiene ratings.
Mayflower, a takeaway at 487 Evesham Road, Redditch was given a four-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an assessment on November 7, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
The Cantonese takeaway was rated 'good' for its 'hygienic food handling', and 'cleanliness and condition of facilities and building' but its 'management of food safety' was rated 'generally satisfactory'.
Meanwhile, Shahi Palace, a takeaway at 66-68 Unicorn Hill, Redditch was given a three-out-of-five food hygiene rating after an assessment on November 8.
Food safety officers rated the Indian restaurant as 'generally satisfactory' in all areas inspected.
It means that of Redditch's 72 takeaways with ratings, 32 have ratings of five and three have zero ratings.
Businesses are rated from zero to five for their food hygiene with zero meaning urgent improvement is required and five meaning hygiene standards are very good.
