ANOTHER 24-hour gym could be coming to Redditch town centre.
National gym group, PureGym, has lodged a planning application for another 24-hour gym at the former Bens for Beds unit at Washford Mills.
If approved this will be the second PureGym in the town.

The opening would create up to 15 jobs including management roles, personal trainers, gym instructors and cleaners, according to the company.
Although the gym will be open no group exercise classes are held at night so there will be ‘no loud music playing at these times’.
A planning document submitted to Redditch Borough Council states: “Gyms operate on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week, providing access to the whole community, including those who work irregular shift patterns such as key workers.
“Numbers of visitors to the gym at night will be low, gym members will normally arrive individually and are almost certain to do so during night-time hours.
“There are consequently not the issues that might potentially be associated with other leisure uses such as large groups of people, loud conversation or anti-social behaviour.”
The proposed gym includes a range of cardiovascular equipment, resistance exercise machines, free weights, a functional zone, studios for exercise classes and changing rooms.

The document goes on to note: “Access and parking arrangements at the application site are well-established and we are not aware of any issues with their current operation. Parking is provided for more than 100 vehicles, and this will be sufficient to serve the proposed use.
“The proposed use will support the vitality and viability of Redditch Town Centre and promote healthy communities by providing access to affordable, high-quality fitness facilities.”
