The council says the improvements will create new, much-needed car parking spaces in the busy area and will also include new railings and new solar-powered, energy-efficient lighting.

Before actioning any plans, Redditch Borough Council is consulting with residents who will be affected by the proposed works.

Environmental services portfolio holder, Cllr Peter Fleming, said: “We are keen to hear the views of local residents who live near the proposed scheme in Batchley to find out what they want and what works best for them so that we can deliver a practical solution.

“We are carrying out improvement works on our estates every year, as we know parking is key for so many residents.
