REDDITCH Labour has announced its candidates for this year’s council elections.

The group have candidates for all ten wards up for election and say they are hoping to secure control of the council from the Conservative party.

Leader of the Labour Group, Cllr Joe Baker said: "I am confident with the vast wealth of experience that they will be an enormous asset to the council and to the residents who they are looking to represent.

“Over the next 100 days, we as a team will be sharing our message across Redditch, a message with your thoughts and issues at the heart of it.

"We will be fighting to stop the demolition of our Library, protect our charity and voluntary groups and help to support them where there is a need, ensure that the council finances are looked after appropriately and bring back democracy to the council and its decision-making, putting you at the heart of everything we do.
