A MAN was rushed to hospital in an "extremely serious" condition after being attacked in Redditch.
At around 6.45pm on Thursday evening (2 February), officers were called to reports concerned for the welfare of a man outside the Eagle Inn pub on Evesham Road.
When officers arrived, they found a 51-year-old man with significant injuries.
Detective Sergeant Chris Dee said: “When paramedics arrived they treated the man before taking him to hospital where he is condition is understood to be extremely serious.
“I want to reassure the local community that this was an isolated incident, and that a 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in our custody while we continue to our investigation.
“I would like to appeal for anyone who was walking or driving in the area of the Eagle Inn between 6.15pm and 6.45pm and may have seen anyone outside the pub or have dash cam footage that could help with our enquiries, to please get in touch by contacting chris.dee@westmercia.police.uk quoting log number 510i of 2 February 2023.”
