TWO national food establishments have been awarded the highest food hygiene ratings for their Redditch branches.
Prezzo, an Italian restaurant at 2 Kingfisher Square, was handed a five out of five rating after an assessment on November 14, according to the Food Standards Agency website.
Meanwhile, Papa Johns, a pizza takeaway at 3 to 4 Church Green West was also given a score of five on November 14 after an inspection.
During an inspection, food safety officers assess a business’s ‘hygienic food handling’, ‘cleanliness and condition of facilities and building’, and ‘management of food safety’.
Businesses are rated from zero to five for their food hygiene with zero meaning urgent improvement is required, one meaning major improvement is necessary, two meaning some improvement is necessary, three meaning generally satisfactory, four meaning good and five meaning hygiene standards are very good.
