A MAPPLEBOROUGH Green care home has donated a brand-new bed to Alexandra Hospital.
Staff and residents at Haywood Lodge dedicated their Easter Fun Day to fundraising for the hospital, holding an Easter egg hunt, a bonnet-making session, a raffle, and a BBQ for the local community.
The event raised over £250 and saw the purchase of a fold-away bed to donate to patients and families who use the Stephen Bailey suite - an end of life suite.
Resident Brenda Radbourne and the Home Manager at Haywood Lodge, Georgia Cooney, took the new bed to Alexandra Hospital and thanked the staff for all their hard work.
Georgia said: “We hope this bed will provide patients and their families with more opportunities to spend quality time together.
“We also wanted to show our appreciation to the staff on the wards for the care and support they offer to so many people, so we took them some goodies too.”
