OFSTED inspectors have praised a Redditch nursery just six months after rating it inadequate.
Owners of The Learning Nursery on Beoley Road West were told by inspectors that children attending the nursery with SEND or those who speak English as an additional language did not receive enough support.
Following the damming report that was published in February, the nursery has now been rated ‘good’ by the watchdog.
In its newest report, which was published on June 15, it states the nursery has made significant improvements.
“The manager and staff have worked closely with the local authority to raise quality across the nursery,” notes the report.
The curriculum is designed across the seven areas of learning, with a strong focus on the prime areas, particularly communication and language.
“Staff warmly welcome children into nursery.
“Children settle quickly and demonstrate secure relationships with staff. Staff successfully promote children's listening and speaking skills during activities.
“Parents speak highly of the care their children receive.
“Staff share information with parents about children's learning and how this can be further supported at home.
Staff also carry out regular reviews of children’s assessments and plan accordingly for children’s next steps.
According to inspectors if staff identify delays they work closely with the special educational needs and disabilities coordinator to put strategies in place.
Owners of The Learning Nursery, Steve Watson and Donna Villa said: "In the three months since February when our previous report was published, we have addressed all of the issues raised by Ofsted and are delighted that Ofsted has now graded provision at The Learning Nursery as ‘Good’.
“We are grateful for the unwavering support of parents and pleased that Ofsted have once again recognised our effectiveness in preparing their children for school, and for a lifetime of learning."
