Two Birmingham restaurants have been included among the 100 best local ones as part of the Good Food Guide 2023.
Chapter and Tropea in Birmingham were both named in the list which was made after months of nominations, inspections and deliberations.
The awards were created 13 years ago to "celebrate the places that are the beating heart of communities around Britain".

The website adds: "This year, we received more than 37,000 nominations from diners advocating their beloved local haunts. It turned out to be the strongest field of contenders we’ve ever seen.
"So, alongside our national and regional winners, we are recognising an extended list of venues offering brilliant, creative, personal hospitality in all corners of Britain."

Chapter in Birmingham is also praised on Tripadvisor with a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 60 reviews.
One reviewer said: “What a fabulous Sunday lunch absolutely delicious. My partner had beef which he said was cooked perfectly. I as a vegetarian was delighted with my blue cheese and broccoli pie with all the Sunday veg and trimmings including my own vegetarian gravy.
“Such a treat as i normally get palmed off with a pasta option. The very cheesey cauliflower cheese is also worth a mention.
“Our second visit and definitely not out last. Best Sunday lunch we have had. Great staff and service too.”
Tropea, also in Birmingham, was named the best local restaurant in central and east England as part of the Good Food Guide 2023.
The restaurant is praised on Tripadvisor with a rating of 5 out of 5 from 77 reviews.
One reviewer wrote: “The food in this restaurant is out of the world, you can tell it uses the best ingredients, freshly prepared with love!
“This was my second visit but my husbands and daughters first visit. They both said it was the best meal they think they have ever eaten.
“Service was also great and the restaurant is nicely done out. 10 out of 10 all round! Faultless!”
