Businesses in Redditch can now benefit from a new multi-million-pound support package being run in partnership with local authorities in Worcestershire.

The £3.9 million in grant funding is on offer across the county with more than 600 businesses and 200 aspiring entrepreneurs set to be supported by March 2025.

The support aims to help businesses ‘start up, scale up, grow, innovate and achieve net zero ambitions’ by offering eligible organisations a range of benefits including bespoke one-to-one guidance, workshops and match-funded grants.

Leader of Redditch Borough Council Matt Dormer said: “I know first-hand the challenges that businesses and business owners face, but I also recognise the incredible potential that lies within our community.

“With this funding, we can be bold and innovative, and work closely with our local entrepreneurs, enterprises, and communities to unlock Redditch's unique potential. For local people, this additional business support will level up opportunities, promote prosperity, and make a real difference.”

The new support package has been part-funded by the government as part of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding via Redditch Borough Council.

Additional funding has been provided by Worcestershire County Council, which is delivering the business support programme on behalf of the local authorities.

Cabinet member with responsibility for economy, infrastructure and skills at Worcestershire County Council, Marc Bayliss, said: “I am thrilled we are working in partnership to deliver a full package of support to businesses.

“These initiatives have been carefully designed in partnership to complement our local growth priorities. The support is set to accelerate economic development, stimulate job creation, and pave the way for a prosperous and dynamic business landscape in the county.”

Launch events will be hosted across the county during the week commencing Monday September 18 with the event for Redditch businesses being held on Friday September 22 at the Bromsgrove Golf Club on Old Stratford Road from 8.30am to 10.45am.

The Worcestershire Growth Hub and Worcestershire County Council’s Skills Team will also be on hand to answer questions.
