A critically acclaimed comedian is set to bring his best-reviewed show to Redditch this October.
Fresh from the Edinburgh Fringe and with a stack of five-star reviews, TV favourite Ed Byrne will take to the stage at the Palace Theatre on Wednesday, October 18 with his show ‘Tragedy Plus Time’.
The title is taken from a quote attributed to Mark Twain where he defines humour as ‘tragedy plus time’ with the comedian aiming to test the formula by “mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs.”
The comedy set centres around the loss of Mr Byrne’s younger brother and comedy director, Paul, who died in 2022 aged 44.
The comedian, who has a TV career spanning three decades including appearing on shows such as QI, Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You, will take the audience through the illness and death of his sibling whilst touching on reconciliation and family relationships.
