A 50-year-old animal rescue service in Wythall is set to receive a welcome boost to its funds.
DM & Co. Homes has promised to donate £25 to Wythall Animal Sanctuary for every new customer instruction the firm receives during the month of October.
The company has also teamed up with other local businesses including M&G Movers and Storers to fundraise for the charity.
Managing director at DM & Co. Homes, Dominic Murphy, said: “The cost-of-living crisis, rising energy prices and general day-to-day running costs have all hit Wythall Animal Sanctuary hard and they’re in desperate need of all our support.
“We’re very pleased to join with local businesses in supporting the sanctuary and we’d encourage everyone who can to join in and do their bit.
“Every little helps and it’s a marvellous cause.”
The sanctuary moved to its current site in Wythall in 1963 after being founded by Dave and Kath Davies.
The pair dedicated their lives to caring for animals in need after they first rescued a horse that was found to be pregnant.
The main focus of the charity is now on dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs although it does have two resident ponies.
Georgia Smith from DM & Co. Homes said: “It was really educational to see the love and care that goes into looking after and hopefully rehoming all the animals at Wythall Animal Sanctuary.
“It’s impossible not to be moved by the devotion of all the staff there.”
