Singing sensation Peter Andre gave an incredible performance in Redditch over the weekend.
The popular entertainer impressed crowds with his chart-topping hits and energetic personality as he kicked off festivities in the town on Saturday, November 25.
Hundreds of fans gathered to get a photo with the star in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre between 3pm and 4.30pm whilst families came out in full force to watch the Christmas light switch-on at 5.30pm.
Manager at Redditch BID, Muj Rahman, said: “This is an exciting moment for Redditch."
“Events like this are huge for us as we want to help attract people into the town. We don’t want residents to go out to Birmingham, we want them to come into Redditch.”
Redditch Borough Council added: "It was a fantastic turnout for the Christmas light switch-on.
"We're very proud of what Embrace Redditch achieved last night."
The event was organised by Redditch BID, also known as Embrace Redditch, with support from the council and the Kingfisher Centre.
The fun-filled night also saw performances on stages located in Market Place and Alcester Street from local musicians including the Got 2 Sing Choir, Happy Accident and Santa Sax.
If that wasn't enough to keep residents on their feet, those in attendance could also catch the much-loved Redditch Carnival as it made its way through the town from the Palace Theatre at 4.45pm.
One fan, Julia Laight, said: "I had a brilliant day. Well done Redditch BID. First I met Peter Andre and then watched him perform. It was the best day ever."
Another fan, Jessica Woodcock, said: "My dream has come true."
Lorna Ellis added: "Absolutely amazing. I love you Peter."
After visiting Redditch when he was younger, the singer himself also had some words for residents as he thanked the crowds for welcoming him back to the town.
He said: "That’s the wonderful thing about England. No matter the weather, you’ll always come out and be part of the festivities.
“Thank you all, you beautiful people of Redditch. It really is great to be back."
A spokesperson for Redditch BID added: “This extraordinary turnout serves as a testament to the strong sense of unity and community spirit that thrives in Redditch.”
