A youth football team from Redditch are delighted after receiving a huge funding boost for the squad.
The under-6’s team at Redditch United secured the £1,000 donation from local housebuilder, Persimmon Homes South Midlands, as part of its Community Champion initiative.
The funds will help towards the cost of new kits, tournament fees and equipment for 2024 and enable the grassroots club to offer many more opportunities to youngsters across the West Midlands.
Lewis Solway, from Redditch Utd Under 6’s, said: “It’s great to have the support of the Persimmon team and we’re so pleased to have secured this kind donation ahead of the new year.
“The team are going from strength to strength so to know we have the backing of local businesses located close to our club is a huge boost for us.”
Sales Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands, Amanda Rogers, said: “What we do is about much more than building homes, it’s about leaving a lasting positive legacy in the communities that we build in.
“We’re always delighted to lend a hand to local sports groups to boost their ongoing initiatives or contribute to causes that mean a lot to them.
“We’re delighted to be able to offer this donation to Redditch Utd Under 6’s and wish them all the best of luck for future tournaments.”
