A ROAD in Redditch flooded as Storm Gerrit battered Worcestershire with motorists forced to use alternative routes. 

Weights Lane flooded due to heavy rainfall caused by the storm, which caused several road closures across the county. 

The Redditch road was previously closed for extensive improvement works earlier this year carried out by Persimmon Homes, who are building new houses nearby.

Worcestershire County Council has confirmed that Weights Lane is open.

A spokesperson said: "There was some flash flooding and a car was stuck but it’s all clear now".
