The Dogs Trust's oldest pair of pooches are "thriving" a year on from finding their forever home.
Sheba and Teddy were adopted from Dogs Trust Evesham 12 months ago by retired Redditch couple, Sue and Peter Lewis, after their owner had passed away.
The now 19-year-old and 18-year-old Collie crosses are believed to be the oldest dogs ever cared for by the charity and were unable to be separated due to their strong bond.
Mr Lewis said: "In the last four weeks, we've had people all over asking us how the dogs are getting on and they're both absolutely thriving.
"They might be 19 and 18 years old now, but they really don't look it. For the past year, they've been on 45-minute walks in the morning and 30-minute walks on the evening as well as enjoying time on the beach down in Cornwall. They love it.
"They really are fabulous and the loveliest pair of dogs."
Due to being older and unable to be separated, the charity found it hard to rehome the pair until Dogs Trust volunteer, Sue, stepped up to adopt Sheba and Teddy after falling in love with the pooches when taking them on a walk.
The couple have had dogs for the past 50 years with the two new additions already being a staple part of the family.
Mr Lewis said: "We were told that Sheba and Teddy couldn't be split up as they probably would've only lasted a few weeks.
"The whole family love them and the grandkids always fight over who gets to hold the leads when taking them on a walk so we have to keep rotating them.
"The dogs are really loved and cherished. Adopting them was the best thing we've ever done."
