A DISABLED resident says he's "struggling to breathe" whilst living in a bungalow infested with "disgusting" mould.
Chris Holland, aged 33, says every time he cleans the black mould from off his walls, ceilings and furniture, it comes back "with a vengeance".
Mr Holland, who is currently out of work and lives on his own, moved to the property at Fladbury Close in Woodrow, Redditch, in September last year.
He claims that the persistent mould, which has taken over his home, has been causing him breathing problems and affecting his mental health.
Mr Holland said he's called Redditch Borough Council to sort out the issue.
He said: "I've been onto them for the last seven months. I want it rectified.
"Every time I've cleaned it off it's come back with a vengeance".
Mr Holland, who previously worked as a warehouse manager, is disabled and is undergoing surgery on his leg.
He's said he's also had to pull up carpets due to mould taking over.
He added: "The furniture's getting ruined. I'm struggling to breathe.
"It's just really getting me down, depressing me".
A spokesperson for Redditch Borough Council said: “An active disrepair claim on this property requires us to deal with the tenant’s solicitor.
“We have now reached the stage of that process where we are able to arrange, through the solicitor, to carry out work we have identified in the living room.
“This follows months of trying, through the solicitor, to arrange access to the property to carry out the survey that was required to identify this work.
“We now hope to be permitted to carry out that work without undue delay.”
