A cat that jumped out of a tradesman's van 20 miles away from home has been reunited with her family.
Claire Jones found her beloved pet Luna last week after more than five weeks away from her home in Stourport.
Luna went missing on January 31 after hiding in a tradesman's van when the family were having flooring work done on their new home.
She jumped out in Enfield Close in Redditch with only a handful of possible sightings over the past few weeks.
Ms Jones, who is head of sales at a software company, said: "A lady called us and sent some photos of a cat that was eating food she'd left out for the foxes. I could only see the back of the cat's head but I thought she looked a bit like Luna.
"I didn't want to get my hopes up but I went over and put a trap in the woman's garden. I came back on Thursday night to put down some fresh food in the trap and decided to walk around Little Acre just in case I could spot her myself.
"I was calling and calling and suddenly I could hear this squeak. I thought I'd imagined it at first but then I heard it again and before I knew it Luna leapt over an eight-foot fence and ran straight over to me. She even looked up as if to say she'd found me."
Ms Jones said Luna was almost feral when she found her, unable to meow and has lost around 18 per cent of her body weight.
The family took Luna straight to the vet the following morning where she was treated for malnutrition, dehydration and anaemia.
Ms Jones said: "I really couldn't believe it. I'd lost hope of finding her alive so it was such a relief to find her. Her fur was very matted but she'd done a good job of looking after herself.
"When we took her to the vet, they wanted to put her on a drip but we thought she'd been through enough trauma and just wanted to get her home.
"She's settling in really well and my children are so happy to see her. She's eating little but often and has started to put her weight back on. I think she's used all of her nine lives."
Ms Jones also thanked the kindness of the Redditch community who have rallied around to support the family in finding Luna over the past month.
She said: "It was such a happy ending but it could have easily gone the other way. She's really lucky and I'm so grateful to the lovely people of Redditch particularly Walkwood Road, Enfield Close and Little Acre residents, the newspaper, social media and Pets Reunited.
"Luna won't be going out for a while after her little adventure, but I'm so happy that our family is complete again."
