Barchester is one of the largest care providers in the UK, running over 250 care homes and seven registered hospitals across the country.

Cherry Trees specialises in providing nursing care, residential care and respite care.

The bar is set high with many chefs being trained in patisserie.

The team at the nursing home created decorated their cake as an Easter bunny munching through a carrot patch, complete with light chocolatey biscuity top soil.

Debbie Osborne, general manager at Cherry Trees said: "The team had such a brilliant time taking part in this competition, it has been such fun.

"It has been a real collaborative process – refining the recipe and trying different versions of the design.

"The residents have loved eating all the previous versions until we came up with the perfect winning design.

"It really has been no hardship."
