A brand-new shop has opened its doors for the first time in Redditch this week.
Unicorn Baby and Kids is now open in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre offering a variety of products to meet the needs of mums and babies in the area as a "one-stop shop".
The business, which is located on Walford Walk next to Muffin Break, sells baby clothes up to three years, nursery furniture and bedding, pushchairs and car seats, bathing essentials, changing accessories and toys.
Muj Rahman, who is the manager at Redditch BID, said: "This is fantastic news for the Kingfisher Centre. We are trying to support local business owners in every way we can. This aligns with our core value to try and improve the town.
"We hear a lot about businesses closing down on the high street so it is so refreshing and positive to see a brand-new shop opening up. It's great news and will help attract more people to Redditch.
"There hasn't been a shop exclusively for babies and children since Mothercare closed down so having this new business adds to the variety of products and services available to residents. It's quite unique and a great step for Redditch."
Unicorn Baby and Kids, which has already had a wave of positive reactions on social media, is open Monday to Saturday from 9am until 5pm and Sunday from 10am until 4pm.
General manager at the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, Adrian Field, said: "We are delighted to be welcoming Unicorn Baby to Kingfisher Redditch. We have worked closely with Veysi to help him realise the opportunity to fill a gap in the market in Redditch and already the interest and feedback has been very positive.
"With strong brands, trained staff and a wide variety of stock for all things baby-related, it is very encouraging to see an independent business with a team of enthusiastic employees open up in Walford Walk. It is a large unit as well, so we expect that they will draw in people from a wide catchment area."
